A Delicious Tour around the World

EPCOT's International Food and Wine Festival is just one of the many amazing culturally educational, fun, and tasty special events held each year at the Walt Disney World park; though I would say it's landed itself at the top of my list of favorites. Included in your regular theme park ticket, this festival expands upon the already wide variety of cultural food and beverage options offered as well as entertains guests of all ages with educational and immersive experiences.

During the parts of the year EPCOT is not in festival mode, there are 11 nations represented in the World Showcase. These 11 nations proudly share their culture and cuisine with park goers throughout the year and are delightfully joined by many more during festivals, especially the International Food and Wine Festival- which brings in roughly 20 nations and additional food and beverages carts. If you are a lover of food, wine, and culture this event is the place to be. Many regulars of this amazing festival will start their day off at International Gateway to receive their Passport to get stamped along their journey (with qualifying purchase). This is a great way to document your day, and remember the delicious stops you made!

Pro Tip: Plan to share! Most of the special offerings for the festival are small plates and flights; sharing will give you room (and budget) to try more along the way and not fill up too fast!

This festival isn't just about eating and drinking though, there is so much more to enjoy while you travel across the World (showcase). Cooking and Wine seminars, cultural representatives from each nation to meet and talk to about their homeland, and of course merchandise (and snacks) that can be taken home to enjoy or to share with family and friends, will all be found during your time at EPCOT. One amazing highlight of the festival is the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. This live music event happens at the American Gardens Theater Stage and features internationally recognized artists, as well as local bands to the Orlando, Fl area. So, get ready to enjoy your food, wine, and tunes at this amazing festival.

Not only are there endless options for how to enjoy this festival as an adult, there is so much fun that awaits the junior traveler as well. Families can "Embark on a Ratatouille-inspired adventure that’s très magnifique with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Kids of all ages can search for Remy on a savory scavenger hunt around EPCOT. Guests can purchase their map and stickers from select festival merchandise locations to participate." (WDW) Additionally there are the beloved "Kidcot" Fun Stops! In every nation throughout the World Showcase you can find a fun spot where the young and young at heart can collect activity cards, mementos, and participate in crafts. For even more fun, download the Play Disney Parks app for a Kidcot Puzzle Hunt!

Here's where you can find these spots:

  • Mexico Pavilion (near Mexico Folk Art Gallery)

  • Norway Pavilion (at The Puffin’s Roost)

  • China Pavilion (near the exit of Reflections of China)

  • Germany Pavilion (at Volkunst)

  • Italy Pavilion (outside, near La Bottega Italiana)

  • American Adventure Pavilion (outside, near Art of Disney)

  • Japan Pavilion (in the Bijutsu-kan Gallery)

  • Morocco Pavilion (at the Marketplace in the Medina)

  • France Pavilion (at Souvenirs de France)

  • United Kingdom Pavilion (at The Toy Soldier)

  • Canada Pavilion (at the exit of Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360)

In addition to the festival, Guests can discover incredible new EPCOT experiences during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary celebration, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, “Harmonious” and the Spaceship Earth Beacon of Magic. Lasting an incredible 129 days, the festival will last from July 14th through November 19th.

Enjoy the festival!
